George Washington High School's most famous alumni are Jennifer Garner Alias star, a 1990 graduate; Ann Magnuson who had a breakout role in Desperately Seeking Susan; Sam Trammell, who has had numerous film and TV roles, most recently on the acclaimed HBO hit True Blood; Cory King, who has played roles in the movie All Over Again and several TV shows; Conor Knighton, host of Google Current; Giles Snyder of National Public Radio and former news director of West Virginia Public Broadcasting; former West Virginia Governor Bob Wise, and Charleston, West Virginia, Mayor Danny Jones. Among the alumni involved in sports are Craig Snyder, an assistant football coach at Winfield High School, Anne White, a former tennis player and college baseball coach Jarod Zelaska.George Washington High School is a public high school in Charleston, West Virginia, USA. GWHS opened in 1965 to accommodate students in South Hills and Loudendale because Charleston High School was getting over-crowded.
